Dr Dan O’Neill delivered an academic paper titled “The ship must be sunk and the sailor drowned”: Masculinity and Health in British Cigarette Marketing, 1950-1970′ as part of the ‘”Bad habits” in Historical Perspective, 1750-2000’ workshop. The workshop was organised by Dr Steve Taylor and Dr Alice Mauger as part of the ‘DIASPORA: Deciphering Irish Alcohol & Substance Use: Post-war Representations & Accounts’ project.
